Social Security Disability Claims – Appeal to Congress for More Timely Review
Attorney J. Russell Fentress, IV, partner at The Law Firm of Goss & Fentress has written to three members of Congress to ask for help for our Virginia Social Security Disability clients in having their claims processed in a more timely fashion. Letters were mailed to Senator Tim Kaine of Virginia, Senator Mark R. Warner of Virginia and Congressman Scott Rigel, representing Virginia Beach and Norfolk.
Mr. Fentress wrote: “Many of your constituents are losing their homes, their savings, their cars, their families and their lives due to these delays. Most do not have health insurance and will not be eligible for Medicare and/or Medicaid unless they win their claim for Social Security Disability benefits. It is very urgent that these agencies become more efficient and accountable to these U.S. citizens.
I would ask that you urgently inquire into this dire situation.”
We will publish any responses and information received as a result of these inquiries to improve the review time of social security disability claims. In the meantime, if you are concerned as well about the time it takes simply to get a response to your disability claim filing, please contact these legislators:
